Category:20th-century historians[Surgical treatment of pancreatic carcinoma--a retrospective study].
Due to the increasing incidence of pancreatic cancer, the resectability rate and postoperative long-term survival rate have improved. This retrospective study investigated the operative results and long-term survival of pancreatic carcinoma in order to evaluate the significance of pancreatic resection. Eighty-five patients who underwent pancreatic resection for pancreatic carcinoma from 1984 to 1999 at our department were investigated. Resectability rates, operative results, and postoperative long-term survival were evaluated. Resectability rate was 23.5% (20/85). Postoperative long-term survival was as follows; 63.2% at 1 year, 47.7% at 2 years, and 34.1% at 5 years. Unresectable patients showed poorer survival than resectable patients. Multivariate analysis revealed a poor prognosis in unresectable patients and in cases of T3, T4, N0, and M1 patients. Although resectability of pancreatic cancer is limited, there is a significant survival benefit in patients who underwent pancreatic resection. Multivariate analysis demonstrated that resectability of pancreatic cancer is an independent prognostic factor for postoperative long-term survival.The Main Card of UFC 188, which took place last Saturday, December 13th, 2016, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, saw a headlining match-up in the Featherweight division between long-time MMA rivals, rising star Jose Aldo and two-division champion Conor McGregor.
